# Connect Stripe to GainTrace

> Sync Stripe customers, subscriptions, and invoices into GainTrace so revenue and billing signals feed health scores and renewals. Set up the Stripe integration in minutes.

Stripe is where your billing lives, so connecting it gives GainTrace the revenue picture behind every account: what they pay, whether they're renewing, and whether a payment just failed.

## What syncs

GainTrace pulls your Stripe billing objects and ties them to your Companies:

* **Customers** link to the matching company.
* **Subscriptions** feed Revenue, MRR, and renewal dates.
* **Invoices and charges** show payment history and catch failed or overdue payments.

## Connect Stripe

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the catalog">
    Go to **Integrations** in the left nav and pick **Stripe**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your API key">
    Paste a Stripe secret key when prompted, then confirm. A restricted key with read access is enough, and keeps the connection scoped to what GainTrace needs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let it sync">
    Billing data starts flowing in. Manage the connection under **Data > Sources**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What you can do with it

With Stripe connected, Revenue reflects real MRR and renewal dates, and billing changes become signals: a failed payment or a downgrade can move an account's health and show up in triage before it turns into churn.

## Good to know

* Stripe changes arrive in near real time through webhooks, backed by a regular sync so nothing is missed.
* This connector is read-only. GainTrace reads your billing data and never changes it in Stripe.
