# Connect PostHog to GainTrace

> Sync PostHog product events and users into GainTrace so real usage drives health scores, activation, and signals. Set up the PostHog integration in minutes.

PostHog knows how customers actually use your product. Connecting it lets that usage drive health, so a drop in active users or stalled adoption shows up as a signal instead of a surprise.

## What syncs

GainTrace pulls these from PostHog and ties them to your accounts:

* **Events** become the product-usage signal behind health and activation.
* **Persons** link usage to the right people and companies.
* **Feature flags, annotations, and cohorts** add context to what changed and when.

## Connect PostHog

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the catalog">
    Go to **Integrations** in the left nav and pick **PostHog**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your API key">
    Paste a PostHog personal API key when prompted, along with your project details, then confirm.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let it sync">
    Your events start flowing in. Manage the connection under **Data > Sources**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What you can do with it

With PostHog connected, product usage becomes part of health. Adoption trends move scores, a usage drop can raise a signal, and your team sees which accounts are pulling back before renewal.

## Good to know

* PostHog syncs on a regular schedule, so new events land within a few minutes.
* This connector is read-only. GainTrace reads your PostHog data and doesn't change anything in it.
