# Connect Intercom to GainTrace

> Sync Intercom contacts, companies, and conversations into GainTrace so support activity feeds health scores and signals. Connect the Intercom integration in minutes.

Intercom is where a lot of your customer conversations happen. Connecting it brings that support history into GainTrace, so a spike in tickets or a frustrated thread can show up on the account before it becomes a churn risk.

## What syncs

GainTrace pulls these Intercom objects and maps them into your workspace:

* **Companies** become your Companies.
* **Contacts** become your People.
* **Conversations, tags, and segments** attach to the right account, so support volume and sentiment are visible in context.

## Connect Intercom

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the catalog">
    Go to **Integrations** in the left nav and pick **Intercom**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize">
    Use **Connect with OAuth** and approve GainTrace in the Intercom window. You can also connect manually with an access token.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let it sync">
    Your conversations and contacts start syncing. Manage the connection under **Data > Sources**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What you can do with it

With Intercom connected, support activity becomes part of health. A rise in open conversations can lower a score and raise a signal, so your team sees a struggling account in triage instead of hearing about it at renewal.

## Good to know

* Intercom updates flow in near real time through webhooks, with a regular background sync as backup.
* This connector is read-only. GainTrace reads your Intercom data and doesn't write back to it.
